8 Ways to Incorporate Pantone's ‘Greenery’ in Your Home

December 9, 2016

The moment we’ve all been waiting for is here! The Pantone Color Institute finally announced its 2017 Color of the Year, and it is [drumroll, please] … Greenery.

The Pantone team chose the yellow-green shade because it is “symbolic of new beginnings.”

“Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute. “Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.”

In short, 2016 was a tough year. With Greenery, the color institute is hoping to bring a little zen back into everyone’s lives.

So whether you’re in need of a little R&R or you just so happen to love the color, here are a few ways you can add touches of Greenery throughout your home.

1. Cuddle up with some green pillows.

green pillowsPillows are a simple, non committal way to incorporate a new color into your home. These textured, stripe throw pillows would exude just the right amount of calm as you snuggle on your couch or bed. If you get tired of the green, it’s as easy as switching the pillows out for different ones.

2. Invest in some rejuvenating furniture.

Maybe those pillows really worked out for you, and now you need even more Greenery in your life. In that case, consider a new sofa. Greenery is supposed to symbolize rejuvenation. There's no better place for the color than the best room of the house.

3. Make baking more relaxing than ever before.

Bakers, rejoice! The time has come to switch up your mixing game.

4. Bring some actual greenery into your home.

5. Show your pets some green love.

6. Destress with a green desk.

7. Paint a wall!

A bit of paint would definitely channel the feeling of revitalization throughout your home. Check out your local hardware stores for a close match.

8. Relax with a scented candle.
