Knock Gives More Homeowners in Colorado and Georgia the Opportunity to Buy Before They Sell

Knock Home Swap™ is now offered in 34 markets nationwide, including Boulder, Fort Collins and Greeley, Colo. and Athens/Clarke County, Dalton, Gainesville and Rome, Ga.

NEW YORK (April 8, 2021) — Knock today announced it is expanding the Knock Home Swap to seven additional markets in Colorado and Georgia, giving homeowners in Boulder, Fort Collins, and Greeley, Colo., and Athens/Clarke County, Dalton, Gainesville and Rome, Ga., the advantage of making a cash-equivalent offer on their new dream home before even listing their old house. With the Knock Home Swap, homeowners have a new way to compete in today’s hot housing market without the stress of having to time a home purchase with a sale or selling to an iBuyer at a discount.

“There’s nothing more exciting than buying a home. However, selling one is complicated and stressful, and is often what holds many people back when it comes to moving onto the next stage of their lives,” said Knock Co-Founder and CEO Sean Black. “At Knock, our mission is to help people move freely. By flipping the process, which usually begins with listing your house for sale, our customers are able to settle into their new home before even thinking about selling their old house. Once they are ready, they work with their local agent to prep and list their old house on the open market for the maximum sale price. It’s a better way to buy and sell, and we’re excited to make the Home Swap available to more homeowners in Colorado and Georgia.”

With today’s launch, the Knock Home Swap is available in 34 markets in nine states. Knock began offering the Home Swap in Atlanta in July 2020 and expanded into the Denver market in August 2020 and Colorado Springs in February 2021.

The Knock Home Swap includes a fully integrated and competitively priced mortgage as well as up to $250,000 in an interest-free bridge loan to cover the down payment on the new home in addition to home prep and up to six months of mortgage payments on the old house. As part of its Home Prep Concierge, Knock provides access to its approved contractor network and manages the payment of all bills upon client-approved completion of work. Additionally, Knock provides a backup offer on the old house in the unlikely event that it doesn’t sell within six months. Ninety percent of Knock homes sell in 90 days or less.

In each market in which it operates, Knock partners with local brokerage firms and their agents who have been trained as Knock Certified Agents to offer the Home Swap to consumers. HomeSmart, Kittle Real Estate and RE/Max Professionals will offer the Home Swap to homeowners in Boulder, Fort Collins and Greeley. It is working with its 15 current brokerage partners in Georgia to offer the Home Swap to homeowners in Athens/Clarke County, Dalton, Gainesville and Rome, Ga.

Kristi Keys, a Knock Certified Agent with Mike Mazyck Realty in Dallas, recently used the Knock Home Swap to buy her new home southwest of Dallas.
“My husband and I knew we wanted to move, but the timing wasn’t right to list our old home. The Home Swap put us in control of the process and gave us the freedom to focus on finding a home. It also allowed us to use the equity in our old house to be an attractive buyer, ” said Keys. “When I first learned of the Knock Home Swap, it almost sounded too good to be true. Now, that I’ve gone through the process as a customer, I can honestly say that the Home Swap has the potential to forever change how people move. For me, I would never consider a traditional home sale again.”

Nationwide, the Knock Home Swap is available through more than 165 real estate brokerage firms with nearly 80,000 agents in nearly 3,700 ZIP codes in the following markets: Athens/Clarke County, Ga.; Atlanta; Austin, Texas; Bakersfield, Calif.; Boulder, Colo.; Charlotte, N.C.; Colorado Springs, Colo.; Dallas-Fort Worth; Dalton, Ga.; Denver; Fort Collins, Colo.; Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Gainesville, Ga.; Greeley, Colo.; Houston; Jacksonville, Fla.; Los Angeles; Miami; Minneapolis-St. Paul; Nashville; Orange County, Calif.; Orlando, Fla.; Phoenix; Raleigh, N.C.; Riverside-Palm Springs, Calif.; Rome, Ga.; San Antonio; Santa Barbara, Calif.; San Bernardino, Calif.; San Diego; Tampa, Fla.; Tucson, Ariz.; Ventura, Calif. and West Palm Beach, Fla.
