What is your role at Knock?

I am a Licensed Local Expert in Charlotte, NC. My primary role is to explain to new customers how Knock can make buying a new home while selling another an easy process. I also help my clients through the overall process of finding and moving into their dream home, selling their current home for top dollar, and making the experience as stress-free as possible.

Why did you decide to join Knock?

Ride the wave or get crushed. Knock is at the forefront of transformation in home buying and selling, which was a main reason why I joined. Plus, I worked in both startup and sales atmospheres before I even got into real estate. When I discovered Knock, it was the perfect match; the company would allow me to combine all my experiences in a way that is upending the traditional, old approach to real estate.

What do you love most about working at Knock?

I love being able to help people find their next home while eliminating the stress of traditional home buying and selling. I don’t know how anyone can drive to their attorney’s office in a moving truck, sell their old home, drive to a different office to buy their new home, to then move into that new home and unpack that moving truck — all in one day. It’s impossible! The timing of traditional real estate is so unpredictable and reliant on so many different elements. Working in conjunction with the buyer of your old home and the seller of your new one is too difficult, which can make traditional real estate so frustrating.

So many of my clients have told me they just wouldn’t have been able to make their move without the help of Knock. Giving them that opportunity is awesome and rewarding for me.

What do you find most challenging about working at Knock?

It can be challenging to get people out of the mindset of traditional real estate — working with their neighbor or their mom or someone else their friend used — in order to get on board with using Knock. People are comfortable with, and have demand for, the convenience that comes from Starbucks and Amazon. But, some people just aren’t there yet when it comes to real estate and houses. It’s also difficult to get people to understand all of the differentiating factors between Knock and our competitors. We offer so much more, so it can be a challenge for people to understand all of the unique benefits.

Who was your most memorable customer?

I’m currently helping an older couple to buy a new home. The husband has never bought or sold a home before, and neither of them have ever used a program like the Knock Home Trade-in. They are coming from living in a townhome and really wanted to fulfill their dream of living in a single family home. I helped them find a house with ample space and their desired surroundings. The wife is constantly telling me how happy she is with what we were able to help them buy. As an agent, it’s just a great feeling to make someone’s dreams come true in that way.

What’s your number one piece of advice for home buyers and sellers?

It’s always important to keep reasonable expectations in terms of the overall real estate market. For instance, the current market is shifting and trending down, but it has been a sellers’ market for months. So sellers think it’s still a sellers’ market and they can ask for so much more, while buyers think they can put in an extremely low offer and still get the house. Both sides need to remain reasonable when it comes to asking and offer prices.

What do you like to do in your personal time?

Aside from planning my wedding that is coming up in April (ah!), I love traveling (most recently I went to Spain), hanging out with my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Moxie, and working out.
